1)what makes you laugh?

I'm working on figuring this one out. Graysfang does. Playing with him, talking to him. Teasing Sam's son about things I ought not was amusing. I think it's quite possible I don't laugh nearly enough. There wasn't much call for it before, so I have to learn now.

2)which is your favorite season of the year?

Late spring/early summer. When the streets finally don't have snow on them anymore, and flowers are blooming. It's warm, but not hot. Everything just feels more alive.

3)do you ever wish you had a Jewel or caste other than the one you bear?

Not Jewel. I mean, being stronger would have been nice from time to time, but the Grey is fairly dark. Different caste, though. A lot of times. A Healer. A Priestess. I've never wanted to be a Queen, but the Craft and gifts of the others are fascinating. It would be nice to be able to create something, heal something, rather than just destroy.

4)do you find it easier to say 'yes' or 'no' when someone asks you if they look all right(and the true answer is 'horrible'?)

It depends on the person. If it's someone I care for, I'll try and be honest. Help fix what can be fixed. If the person doesn't matter, it's easier just to lie.

5)you've said what you're willing to give up to have a child. What do you expect to change or gain in return?

...Something that's mine. Something to carry on my mother's blood. The feeling of having created something, with someone I love, that makes our lives richer. The chance to nurture a life, watch it grow. To build a family and a home of my own. To...settle somewhat instead of feeling...aimless most days.


I suppose this means if anyone wants me to ask them questions, go ahead.

1)It's...very different from being alive. I'd say they are closer to demon-dead than anything. I didn't lose any of my strength when I made the change. I had to grow accustomed to
differences. The way sunlight affects me. The need for blood.
Some sensations become less acute. Not those related to the Craft, but physical ones. For a time afterward, I recall colors, textures and scents seeming muted, though that improved with experience. Wry, weary smile.I think the Guardians' lack of interest in sexual activities might be just as well. There's no mistaking us for what we, I, were. That's best.
2)To do so as a living man was something no one had done before, everyone thought it was impossible. It's never easy. No Realm is, and Hell... only a Black-Jeweled or darker ruler would survive the attempt to hold that place.
3)to create or build things, whether it's something small or large. Making a toy for a child, or building a place such as the Hall. Something tangible.

4)I think that all three of those possibilities might have some truth in them. We're told that people are reborn; that I've always been less sure of. I've always imagined it to be a place rather than something like these 'gods' some talk about.
5)Trust him at my back, at Jaenelle's, at yours, yes. He's still dangerous but refusal to trust is a worse choice.

1)*visibly flinches* Originally? A void. The first world I remember had no life within it, but me, until I ventured out far enough to find someone else traveling. That was my older brother. After that, the home we had was one of the dimensions that get called "hell" in Earth history.
2)That I don't...always show others the same trust I want from them.
3)family, or friends. People I can be myself with, without pretense or intrigue.
4)a life shared together, for as long as he'll have me. Good and bad times.
5)entirely alone? that's rare. When I am, much less...approachable than I am even now*wry smile*. Human friends and lovers help me remember what I value in the living worlds. Without them, it's power that sings to me most loudly, not other passions. The darkness. Which has its beauty as well as fears. There's a time for either, light or dark.
